Ren

Early Years
As a child of a human mother and fairy father, Ren was born as a halfling and did not have an easy time growing up among fey. Despite being royalty because of his father being a fey prince, Ren was still despised by his own grandfather, the king, who allowed the other fey to ridicule and pull mean pranks on both him and his mother. One day, one of those pranks went too far, causing his mother to be turned into a fairy rose. 
 
Ren and his father fled from their kin to an unknown location in a faraway forest after that. Ren's father desperately clung onto his wife, forgetting his own son's existence, and this prompted Ren to find a cure to turn his mother back into a human. His wish being to unify his family once more.
 
Ren appears in Pelican Town
Once in Pelican Town, Ren began to search for the Wizard he'd overheard some fairies speaking about one day in the woods near his home. After failing to find the man multiple times, he eventually found the wizard's tower deep in the forest. The two soon struck a deal: Ren would run errands around town so the wizard could focus on his studies and avoid the villagers while the wizard would help Ren find a cure for his mother.
 
Although he was a bit put off by the man at first, he soon realized they were both just two lonely souls hoping to connect with people.
 
Ren meets the Player
​​​​As the years go by and Ren is still desperately trying to find a
cure for his mother, a new farmer moves into town on that old,
abandoned farm. Ren hears about them from the wizard yet
chooses to keep his distance in fear of another human ending
up like his mother. To his surprise, this new human wishes to
get close to him and persistently visits him to talk and give
gifts daily. Eventually he begins to open up to the idea of
befriending a human and even staying in this town permanently after returning home to cure his mother when he had found a cure.
